On August 15, every year, India celebrates its Independence Day, it was on the same day in 1947 that India gained independence from the shackles of colonialism after aging a long fight against the British. This was made possible by generations of freedom fighters; some known, many unknowns. They made great sacrifices; the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice was paramount mong our freedom fighters. The day is like a festival for the people of India who celebrate it with open hearts. This day is celebrated to ignite the feeling of nationalism and patriotism across the country.

Independence Day Ceremony is organized by The Ministry of Defence on 15th August each year in the national capital, Delhi, where important government landmarks are bedecked, and roads are decorated with the National Flag. Moreover, the ceremonial National Flag hoisting takes place at Red Fort from where the Prime Minister delivers a speech to the entire nation.

As the tricolour flutters majestically in the sky, the Prime Minister addresses the nation. He pays tribute to the freedom fighters who dedicated their lives to securing India's independence and emphasizes the values of unity, diversity, and inclusivity that define the nation. It serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by countless individuals who fought for freedom. Above all, it instils a sense of responsibility and commitment among citizens to uphold the principles of liberty, justice, and equality that India stands for.

The Ceremony at Red Fort consisting of the presentation of a Guard of Honour by the Armed Forces to the Prime Minister of India, unfurling of the National Flag is accompanied by playing of the National Anthem and firing of 21-gun salute, speech by the Prime Minister, singing of the National Anthem immediately after PM's speech, and release of tri-coloured balloon at the end.
